Judy Schwarz

Sister of Resident

My brother, Harvey, was 74 years old when he had a a stroke. Up until that time, he had lived independently in his own apartment in Coney Island

After a short stint in the hospital and six weeks in a rehab facility, he wanted to go "home" but was not recovered enough to live independently.

Harvey was accepted at Harbor View where he continued to receive rehabilitation services. After a few months, he realized that this was to be his permanent "home".

Although he is physically capable, with a a walker or cane, and doing the activities he enjoyed before the stroke, any mental exertion causes him to become very stressed. The atmosphere at Harbor View is very calming. The staff and administration know him by name and go out of their way to accomodate his needs and desires.

I live out of town and each time I visit my brother looks better and younger than the time before. He has a "schedule" he keeps, and weather permitting, he often sits outside on the patio enjoying the ocean view or goes for a walk around the neighborhood. There is a multi-plex nearby where he can see first run movies

Once he finally admitted that he could no longer live independently anymore, Harbor View, with its resort hotel atmosphere is just what he needs to enjoy life without worry.

Howard and Adrienne

Children of a Resident

Our first meeting with Dahlia at Harborview Assissted Living gave us a very positive outlook for the facility and staff. Mom has now been at Harborview for nine months, and enjoys new friendships, activities, and weekly entertainment. The staff goes out of their way to respond quickly to any of our concerns.

Harborview has greatly added to her quality of life, and she truly feels at home. Thank you for all you've done to make it possible.

Niece of a Resident

My nephew, Allen Plaskowitz, has been residing at Harbor View for approximately a year and a half. In this amount of time, I have seen a large change in him. Allen is constantly socializing, making friends, and involved in group activities. I am very grateful for Harbor View's excellent staff and the treatment of my nephew.

Frank Puleo

Brother of a Resident

Please be advised that my sister, Concetta Puleo has been a resident at Harbor View Assisted Living for almost a year. I have been impressed by the management and staff there. My sister is doing very well, in fact her weight has increased.

The premises and her room are always neat and clean. Mrs. Dahlia Weiss is an excellent director and manages Harbor View to the advantage of residents. I also find the attendants to be attentive and caring.

I visit my sister frequently there and find her to be very happy.

Jonathan Sohnis

Son of a Resident

My Mom and I were quite choosey and meticulous when looking at our options for senior assisted living. After all, this new abode needed to fit and feel like the comfortable transition that we hoped it to be.

Needless to say, had we first visited Harbor View Assissted Senior Living, there would have been no need to search further. It is not only a warm and caring atmosphere, but it is one that perks with engaging activities. My children enjoy visiting their Bobbie (Grandma) there, and quite frankly enjoyed sharing in some of the activities with here. For myself and lovely wife, we are extremely grateful and confident that my mom-in-law is happily enjoying her time.
